Life Insurance

Capgemini U.S. understands the importance of offering benefits that help protect the financial security of your family in the event of your death or an accident or illness that prevents you from working.

Group Term Life Insurance
Capgemini provides its active employees who work at least 20 hours per week with 100% employer-paid Group Term Life Insurance. Available coverage options are either one times your total annual earnings up to $2,500,000 or $50,000 if your annual earnings exceed $50,000.

Group Universal Life/Group Variable Universal Life Insurance
Employee-paid Group Universal Life/Group Variable Universal Life Insurance coverage to a maximum of $10,000,000 is also available. Premium rates are dependent upon your age, and whether or not you smoke. Both the Group Universal Life and Group Variable Universal Life Insurance options offer the opportunity to set aside additional after-tax dollars into a tax-deferred cash accumulation fund under which loans and withdrawals are available, subject to certain restrictions.

Under the Group Universal Life Insurance option, contributions made to the cash accumulation fund are credited with an interest rate determined by the insurance company. Under the Group Variable Universal Life Insurance option, you have the opportunity to invest the funds in the cash accumulation fund among the 8 investment options offered under the Plan.

You may also purchase up to a maximum of $500,000 coverage for your spouse/domestic partner and $20,000 for each of your dependent children. Plan provisions vary depending upon your rank within Capgemini.

Disability Plans

Short-Term Disability Plan
Capgemini offers 100% employer-paid short-term disability coverages to all active, permanent, full-time employees.

The benefits payable under the Short-Term Disability Plan in the event you become disabled due to circumstances such as non-employment related accidental bodily injury or illness are dependent upon rank and/or years of service, and cover between 60% and 100% of your pay for up to 26 weeks.

Long-Term Disability Plan
The Capgemini Long-Term Disability Plan is available to all active, full-time employees. The Long-Term Disability Program has two available components:

  • Core Long Term-Disability
    The first component is the 100% employer-paid Core Long-Term Disability Plan, which provides you with 50% of your annual earnings (to a maximum of $10,000 per month) in the event your Short Term Disability period extends beyond 180 days.
  • Supplemental Long-Term Disability
    Eligible employees also have the opportunity to purchase additional coverage in the amount of 10% of annual earnings under the Supplemental Long-Term Disability. The maximum benefit is $15,000 per month when combined with benefits payable under the Core Long-Term Disability Plan.

Business Travel Accident Insurance

Capgemini provides its active employees who work at least 20 hours per week with 100% employer-paid Business Travel Accident coverage equal to two times your total annual earnings up to $2,500,000.

Travel assistance services are included as part of Business Travel Accident Coverage. These services include free travel assistance when traveling a distance of 100 miles or more away from your residence or permanent place of assignment for business or pleasure travel. Also included are lost baggage/passport support, insurance coverage coordination and emergency medical services.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

Employee-paid Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Coverage is available in $10,000 increments up to $1,000,000 to active employees who work at least 20 hours per week.

Coverage is also available for spouses/domestic partners and dependent child(ren). Travel assistance services are included as part of your Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance Coverage.

Group Auto/Homeowners Insurance

Auto, home and personal property insurance is available at special group rates to eligible Capgemini employees.

Legal Plans

Capgemini offers two levels of employee-paid legal coverage to eligible employees. The programs vary with regard to covered services and the ability to utilize out-of network legal services.

Legal Access Plan
The Legal Access Plan is a basic legal advice plan that is perfect if you are looking to have the advice of an attorney at your fingertips. You will receive unlimited telephone access to legal and financial professionals who can help you with a wide range of services including preparing a personal will, document review, emergency legal assistance and referral to a local Network Attorney at a reduced fee. Your Financial Counseling and Education Services will be provided through BALANCESM, a Financial Fitness Program. Whether you're interested in developing a workable spending and savings plan, getting out of debt, taking a look at your credit report, buying a home, or planning for your financial future, BALANCE can help. You will have access to free and confidential financial counseling and education through BALANCE. The Legal Access Plan offers great value at an affordable price.

Legal Security Insurance Plan
The Legal Security Insurance Plan provides all of the benefits of the Legal Access Plan with additional in-office legal coverage that allows you to utilize in-network and out-of-network attorneys. If you use an out-of-network attorney, you will receive reimbursement based on a set fee schedule. In addition to the services included in the Legal Access Plan, the Legal Security Insurance Plan also provides coverage for office consultations, debt defense, bankruptcy, consumer matters, purchase or sale of a residence, uncontested separation/divorce, guardianship and more. This plan offers you protection and peace of mind at a price you can easily live with.
