Learning & Development

As a working professional, one can easily argue that learning is an integral part of our job description.

Because of this, your professional development is important to Capgemini.  We emphasize, encourage and support an environment where every learning experience makes you eager for another one. We take into consideration all learning environments; classroom, web based and on the job.  As such, our portfolio of course offerings is delivered in a blended learning environment and includes over 2000 courses along with an on line library of over 10,000 unabridged professional and industry publications and reference material.

Your career at Capgemini begins with a 3 day orientation program for our more experienced professionals, and an 8-10 day program for our new hires directly off campus. Using exercises, team assignments and our own executive team, our orientation is interactively designed to provide an in depth overview around our systems, knowledge, methods and tools.

Additional Key Professional Opportunities for you at Capgemini exist in the following areas:

Foundation Competencies – Emphasizing behavioral soft skills and methodological knowledge practitioners should possess to support targeted competency development.

Certification – Our Certification programs ensure our practitioners have core competencies through promotion and greater emphasis of our certification programs.  Each Capgemini certification program includes four levels of certification.  The first two levels are managed and administered at a local level, but controlled globally.  The third and fourth levels are conducted exclusively at a global level in partnership with our Corporate University in Chantilly France to ensure consistency and recognition across Capgemini’s 77,000 working professionals.  Each level has certification criteria that build upon the previous level, with additional areas of mastery and experience expectations.  Here is a general description of each level:

  • Level 1, Practitioner – has met all of the foundation criteria, including base knowledge, successful delivery experience and community participation.
  • Level 2, Senior – builds upon Level 1 to include additional experience, expertise in 1-2 areas, sales experience, external certification (in most cases, if not during Level 1), leadership and mentoring.
  • Level 3, Enterprise – continues to build upon the previous two levels, and includes leadership and performance in an international environment and a transnational team, thought leadership, and external recognition of expertise.
  • Level 4, Global - includes all of the criteria for the first three levels, and is a market influencer via thought leadership, internal and external speeches, publications and other proofs of market recognition.

At Capgemini, we understand learning and development is critical to our business and professional growth.  Our customers expect competent practitioners who understand their business needs.  With the comprehensive and varied programs we offer, we are able to provide excellent development opportunities for our professionals at all levels.
