Each year, the Computerworld Honors Chairmen's Committee nominates organizations that are using information technology to improve society for inclusion in the Computerworld Honors Online Archive and the Collections of the Global Archives. 60 finalists from sixteen countries represent the very best among 313 case studies submitted to the Collection this year. Finalists were selected by a panel of distinguished judges on the basis of: Benefit to society; Importance of Information Technology; Originality; Success and Difficulty.
American Express Corporate Travel Solutions’ case study on TravelBahn was cited for its contribution to the great strides toward remarkable social achievement in Transportation. According to the case study, “In the brave new world of business travel, where road warriors need to make and change travel plans quickly and travel managers require greater control over their programs, American Express has pioneered leading-edge technology based solutions that make life easier for business travelers and more effective for corporate travel managers.”
